The United Way Hunger Coalition works to eliminate food insecurity within our community by taking fresh, healthy produce directly to families in need.
The coalition provides food to 8-12 local food pantries throughout the county, is volunteer-run and meets regularly to stay informed on the needs of our community. To learn more, please contact Ben Lee at blee@unitedwaymc.org
The annual Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving morning from Wausau's downtown 400 Block. This is the largest fundraiser for the coalition. In 2025 there were 2,413 runners that raised a record $95,500 for the cause!
