Partner with United Way of Marathon County - Make a Difference One Leaf at a Time!
This initiative offers free leaf raking to elderly or disabled homeowners

Wausau, Wis. –United Way of Marathon County is looking for volunteers to join them for their annual Make a Difference Day raking event, taking place October 22-25.

More than 100 yards are on the list this year.

Seasonal lawn care like leaf removal presents a significant challenge, as the cost of hiring out these services can be out of reach. United Way of Marathon County is seeking to help relieve that worry by coordinating volunteers to rake these yards, allowing people to care for and remain in their homes without taking on an additional household expense.

Community members can join us in this effort by gathering a group to spend a few hours raking, bagging, and hauling leaves for households across Marathon County. This is a great opportunity for a group of friends, neighbors, youth groups, or coworkers to team up and make a direct impact in the community. Please register to volunteer by October 15.
