Wausau, Wis. – United Way of Marathon County is proud to announce our participation in the successful first round distribution of funds through the Otto Bremer Trust Community Responsive Fund (OBT-CRF). The Otto Bremer Trust chose the United Way of Wisconsin network as its philanthropic intermediary.
Through this partnership, United Way of Marathon County distributed $254,000 in Marathon County. Statewide, United Ways facilitated the distribution of $2 million from the Otto Bremmer Trust Community Responsive Fund.
“Any time that we can bring additional funds into our community, is a good thing. We’re grateful that the Otto Bremer Trust saw the value in this partnership and that we’re able to make some really great investments in our community because of that partnership,” said United Way Director of Community Impact, Ben Lee.
United Way of Marathon County nominated six area nonprofits as the recipients of part of this statewide investment. The grants were awarded to the nonprofits listed below.
• Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau Area
• McLit, Marathon County Literacy Council
• Bridge Community Health Clinic
• The Women’s Community

• Woodson YMCA
Nominations were vetted for alignment with Otto Bremer Trust’s eligibility criteria, including nonprofit governance standards, financial thresholds, and programmatic impact.
