Who is Kari?

Kari is an “accidental banker” who landed in the industry in 1986 and never left.  Currently, she serves as Vice President – Retail Experience Leader for Peoples State Bank.  One of Kari’s favorite parts of working for Peoples is the bank’s support for employees to volunteer within their communities.  In addition to United Way, Kari also volunteers for Get Smart Wausau, the Greater Wausau Chamber, the Wisconsin Bankers Association and Future Branches.

Why United Way?

When I was a young, single mom struggling to make ends meet - a United Way funded program for childcare assistance allowed me to stay in the workplace and advance my career.  I never forgot that and have been compelled to give back both monetarily and through advocacy and volunteerism ever since.
