The Marathon County Hunger Coalition works to eliminate food insecurity within our community by taking fresh, healthy produce directly to families in need.
The Marathon County Hunger Coalition provides food to 8-12 local food pantries throughout the county. They purchase food through the Bulk Buy and Farm to Family Produce Program to ensure resources are in the community. The annual Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving morning from Wausau's downtown. This is the largest fundraiser for the coalition. In 2023 there were more than 1,920 runners who raised a record $72,100 for the cause!
